Adverse Event Reporting System, or AERS, click here. A worrisome report was released today indicating that the swine flu virus can cause infection deep in the lungs, much like the flu virus responsible for the 1918 pandemic that killed at least 40 million people. This means it's more likely than typical seasonal flu to cause stubborn cases of pneumonia, which is one of the leading causes of death in flu cases. But another facet of the outbreak isn't getting the attention it ought to. The British Medical Journal reported that the British government is seeking public feedback on side effects from Tamiflu and other antiviral medications. Britain is currently in the throes of an H1N1 outbreak, one that even affected "Harry Potter" actor Rupert Grint. Tamiflu, the name brand of oseltamivir phosphate, and Relenza also known as zanamivir are currently the go to drugs for prevention and treatment of H1N1 flu. They're both recommended for use in patients or family members of patients who have underlying health conditions, such as asthma or heart disease, which could lead to serious complications from a flu infection. Tamiflu is recommended for patients as young as 1 year of age, while Relenza is approved for those 5 and older. Skin rash, nausea, and vomiting are the most commonly reported side effects from these antivirals. However, the Food and Drug Administration warned as early as 2006 that Tamiflu and similar treatments were linked with "self injury and delirium" in patients in Japan.

Fumbling for the right words while trying to crack a joke can be embarrassing. It can ruin the funny side of a conversation. Whether it is English, Spanish, Greek or French, being in control of your language and picking the right words should come naturally. Increase your vocabulary and have a strong grip over your play of words when you are trying to make someone laugh. Using the right words will help you hit the tender funny bone, whether it is to create ambiguity in meaning, a pun on words or a double entendre. A good sense of humor and a strong command over language are of little value if the timing of a joke goes wrong. Knowing when to say something is as important as knowing what to say. It is highly situational so the best way to find out is to learn from experience. Every time you say something funny in an attempt to make someone laugh, judge the reaction and think "Would it have been funnier if I'd said it earlier/later?" As you make attempts to equip yourself with the skills to be funnier, this deliberate introspection will help you time your humor to perfection. One of the fine abilities of a stand up comedian is to hold a poker face after saying something hilariously funny while watching everyone burst into fits of laughter. Stand up comedy would cease to be funny if the comedian himself/herself started rolling with laughter.

Her professional background as a PhD statistician raised suspicions that Ginther had discovered an anomaly in Texas system. In a similar vein, a Stanford and MIT trained statistician named Mohan Srivastava proved in 2003 that he could predict patterns in certain kinds of scratch off tickets in Canada, guessing the correct numbers around 90 percent of the time. Srivastava alerted authorities as soon as he found the flaw. If he could have exploited it, he later explained to a reporter at Wired, he would have, but he had calculated that it wasnt worth his time. It would take too many hours to buy the tickets in bulk, count the winners, redeem them for prizes, file the tax forms. He already had a full time job. It never occurred to Jerry to alert the Michigan Lottery that Winfall was vulnerable to exploitation. For all he knew, the state was perfectly aware of the flaw already. Maybe the flaw was intentional, to encourage players to spend lots of money on lottery tickets, since the state took a cut of each ticket sold, about 35 cents on the dollar. In 2003, the year that Jerry began playing, the state lottery would sell $1. 68 billion in tickets and send $586 million of that revenue into a state fund to support K 12 public education.
